Ongoing Introductory Programs
The Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center offers various opportunities for beginning and experienced meditators to receive introductory and ongoing meditation instruction.
Beginning to Meditate
Basic meditation practice can become part of any spiritual path. Beginners and experienced practitioners who want to receive further instruction are welcome at this introductory workshop. Led by senior teachers, the class includes meditation instruction and practice, a talk, group discussions, posture work, and refreshments. Last Saturday of the month, 9am-12pm, $25.
Sunday Open House
Join us at the center on Sundays for an introduction to our center, lineage, and community. The Open House includes a talk, meditation instruction, discussion, and a social. Drop-ins are welcome. Every Sunday from 10:30am to noon in the front parlor, no charge.
Monday Night Open Class
This popular drop-in class is open to anyone with an interest in exploring or engaging in the Shambhala Buddhist teachings. Each session begins with your choice of meditation instruction or group meditation practice from 7 to 7:30pm, followed by a talk and discussion until 9pm. The emphasis is on bringing dharma and meditation practice into focus in a fresh and provocative way and to explore how the insight arising out of meditation may be applied to our contemporary lives. Every Monday, 7-9pm, $10 donation requested.
Wednesday Night Meditation Instruction
Every Wednesday, we offer public meditation instruction from 5:00 to 5:45 pm. This is an opportunity to learn the basic techniques of sitting meditation, ask questions, deepen or reconnect with your practice, and get to know others connected with the Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center. Please arrive in the Shambhala Training Hall (second floor) promptly at 5:00. No charge.

Other opportunities to receive meditation instruction and explore Shambhala Buddhist teachings include Shambhala Training Level I, the Shambhala School of Buddhist Studies, and other introductory programs.
