GENEROSITY
Our Generosity Policy
Considered priceless, the Buddhist teachings have been given freely since the time of the Buddha. The Shambhala Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The cost of program registration covers administrative overhead, teacher travel and building costs. The ability to continue offering programs depends solely on donations from members and participants. Because of this, our programs and classes are usually priced much lower than comparable programs in this area.
However, our policy is not to turn away anyone due to financial concerns. Therefore, we offer unlimited work exchange opportunities and limited partial scholarships for all programs and classes.
Please pay at the highest level that you can afford, in order to cover The Shambhala Center's direct costs for events, and to allow others who really need to pay less the opportunity to attend.
Your financial contribution will help offset indirect costs and helps keep program fees as low as possible. You are welcome to pre-arrange work study for the remainder. If you are in need of financial support, contact us prior to the class or program you are interested in attending.
Generosity is a mutual gesture between participant and the program, and because of the nature of these precious teachings, we hope that all will feel inspired to support our work in every way possible!
