How to Prepare for
The Scorpion Assembly
With Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
Shambhala Mountain Center
July 2-16, 2009
Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will open the Scorpion Seal terma path this summer to qualified students at Shambhala Mountain Center, July 2-16. You must apply and be accepted; see www.shambhalamountain.org. The Scorpion Seal of the Golden Sun is the highest Shambhala teaching. You must have completed Warrior Assembly (or equivalent transmissions) and Rigden Abhisheka (therefore also Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary), as well as certain other requirements specified in the document, “Scorpion Seal Prerequisites.” If you have not received this PDF file, please contact cynthia@boulder.shambhala.org for an e-version or go to SMC website. Please read and follow the PDF document!
Senior students who have been practicing the Werma Sadhana for many years and are sadhakas, you will need to complete at least one full day of group practice of each of the main sections of the Primordial Rigden Ngondro, among other things. A group constitutes 3 people. Gather two friends and use the Boulder Shambhala Center’s Sadhaka Shrine Room. Come solo to all-day Vajrayana Practice Intensives at Marpa House (1st weekend of the month), Boulder Shambhala Center (3rd weekend of the month), or Denver Shambhala Center, www.shambhaladenver.org (4th weekend of the month) where at least 3 people are practicing. Join Marpa House for their Werma Intensive in April. If you are new to the practice (having done it only at Rigden Abhisheka), if you study your text and commentary and annotate your text before beginning, things will go well. If really lost, you can contact the practice weekend intensives coordinators (Justin Rezzonico and John Winternitz, Marpa House; Norma Harris and Dan Phillips, Denver; Charley Rossicky and Felice Owens, Boulder) ahead of time. Emjoy!
