The Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center Seeks New Director
Dear Shambhala Community:
After four years of dedicated and caring service to the Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center, Janet Solyntjes is leaving her post. On behalf of Kalapa Court, a Search Committee consisting of members of the Boulder Shambhbala Meditation Center Community Council and Strategic Planning Board is leading the search for a new Director, working closely with the Center Staff and sangha throughout the process. We invite interested members of the worldwide Shambhala Community to apply to become the new Director of the Boulder Shambhala MeditationCenter.
The Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center is a Dzong of the Shambhala Mandala and the oldest urban center personally founded by the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. It was the original international headquarters of Vajradhatu and his main seat of teaching for many years. The Center is vibrant and busy, with over 680 regular members, and serving the broader Rocky Mountain regional community. We host a full slate of programs and community events for adults and children, both within the sangha and for the broader Boulder community. We interact closely with Naropa University, Shambhala Mountain Center, Marpa House and of course, the central bodies of Shambhala. Please visit our website to get a more complete view of the rich tapestry of life at the Center – http://www.boulder.shambhala.org.
The Center Director plays a critical role in the life and health of our community – providing leadership and cohesiveness for the Center. The Director stewards the financial, spiritual and physical health of the center, as well as acting as a point of communication and support for the community itself. It is a demanding and life-changing position requiring strong financial and human resource management skills, as well as community outreach and fund raising lungta. We invite you to request a job description and application instructions by sending an email to Bill Lyford at wclyford@earthlink.net, or a letter of inquiry to BSMC Search Committee, 1345 Spruce Street, Boulder, CO 80302.
