Our Community

What is a Sangha?

"Sangha" is the Sanskrit term for "community of practitioners" – one of the precious Three Jewels of Buddhism. The Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center is home to a wonderfully diverse community who share a genuine connection to contemplative practice and the aspiration to realize a more wakeful, sane society.

Our Community Events

Friends and members of the Shambhala Center are warmly welcome to attend public community practice, events, celebrations, and meetings as well as gatherings of special interest groups. Some programs have pre-requisites.

Families with children are also welcome for many community events. The center provides free childcare during major teaching visits and other special events, please visit our Families and Children page, for more info. For a list of current and upcoming community events, please visit our Community Programs page. If you'd like to attend an open house or introductory talk, please visit our Introductory Programs page. Everyone is welcome to join us for community practice and group meditation.
